Designers and artists use them, so why can’t you? Inspiration Books are ideal for people who love to be creative or who just need a place to record their thoughts and ideas. Able to be customized to include just about anything that you like, inspiration books can be a wonderful way to relieve stress, to collect images or quotes that mean something to you, and of course, inspire creativity!
I first heard about inspiration books when I was chatting with a friend of mine who is a graphic designer. He carries around a large sketchbook overflowing with magazine cutouts, newspaper clippings, photographs, and notes that he’s written to himself, all to help him complete some of his latest projects. When I asked him about what it was, he told me that it was a special place for him to put his thoughts on paper.
As a scrapbooker, I know how important it is to find a place to put things down and to capture memories that mean so much. However, I had never thought about keeping an inspiration book before. Since that day, I’ve started building my own inspiration book, filling it up with photographs of my family, doodles that I’ve made on napkins, and favorite quotes that keep me going. It’s been such a great creative outlet for me, and I’ve found that I’ve drawn a lot of practical inspiration from it, including what color to paint my kitchen! They’re so great…everyone should have one! All you need to do is get a blank scrapbook or photo album and fill it with the things that give you ideas. Anything from photos to quotes to magazine ads – it’s all a perfect fit for your inspiration book!
